Conway Centre Reed Bed project
The Conway Centre occupies 170 acres of National Trust parkland and gardens which extend down to the Menai Strait and include a Private Dock, Adventure Playground, Tipi, Playing Fields, Natural Ponds, Sheltered Shoreline and Mature Woodlands.
The site has over 300 beds and it was of paramount importance that the welfare of the resident staff and also the staff and pupils that visited the centre throughout the duration of the contract was uppermost on our agenda.
Correspondence were sent out to all suppliers and sub-contractors that had been carefully selected to assist with the works, informing them of the strict site speed limit, the route to the temporary site office and compound, and the extreme caution that should be taken whilst travelling through the grounds.
Prior to works commencing, several meetings took place with senior management from the centre, their environmental consultants, representatives from the National Trust, local authority Tree Officers and centre grounds staff. All of this careful planning ensured that the contract ran smoothly throughout, and without incident.
All parties concerned were delighted with the high quality end product, the care and consideration that was given to the surrounding environment whilst working in National Trust grounds and the attention to the Health & Safety considerations that were put in place when working in such a highly populated site.
